Born in Ireland, Karl moved to the United States when as a young child. Since day one his eye have been on the skies and he has wanted to do nothing except fly. Karl is currently a First Officer at Republic Airlines, flying the Embraer 170/175.

His military career began in 2005 with the Indiana Air National Guard serving as an enlisted member at the 181st Intelligence Wing in Base Communications and Network Security. The week before he graduated from Indiana State University he was hired by the Connecticut Air National Guard’s 103rd Airlift Wing to be a C-21 pilot. Karl had the opportunity to fly the C-21 for about seven months before volunteering to be a part of the initial cadre of CTANG members to transition to the C-130. In 2015 he transferred to the Texas Air National Guard where he continue to fly at Ellington Field. he currently lives in League City, Texas with his wife Kara and his two dogs. He recently started working on my Masters Degree at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.

He started the Pilot for a Day program at the 103rd Airlift Squadron with the Connecticut Air National Guard in 2013. Since then he has had the opportunity to host two kids from the Connecticut Childrens Medical Center in Hartford CT over a two-year span. The Pilot for a Day has quickly become a passion of his. It is his goal to bring the program to Houston at Ellington Field, hopefully bridging a relationship between the many tenant units at the field to include the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, and NASA.
